The Trinity College men's basketball team outscored Hamilton20-9 to end the first half with a 47-36 advantage, and held on for the 81-78win in NESCAC action.

Hamilton (9-8) cut the lead to 67-66 with 8:52 remaining in the game, beforeTrinity junior guard Marcus Reilly hit a three-pointer from the wing,his only field goal of the game to end the Hamilton run. Continental juniorcenter Jon Schmiegel scored on a put back with :14 seconds left to cuthe lead to 80-78. After a Trinity (14-2) free throw, senior guard KevinThorpe three-point attempt at the buzzer hit the iron.

Trinity senior guard Craig Moody scored 24 points, while JasonLevin added 14 points. Schmiegel led the Continentals with 21 pointsand 17 rebounds, while junior forward Michael Schantz had 19 points andnine rebounds, but fouled out with 5:37 left to play. Thorpe also had 19points.
