Carl B. Menges '51, vice chairman of the board of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc., and a long-time Hamilton trustee, will deliver the annual Class and Charter Day address at Hamilton College on Friday, May 7. His talk is entitled, "A Hamilton Experience: A Retrospective."

The convocation, which marks the end of the 1998-99 academic year, will begin at 3 p.m. in the Chapel. In addition to Menges' talk, the college will recognize outstanding student and faculty achievement during the preceding year through the awarding of prizes and other honors. The event is open to the public.

After graduating from Hamilton, Menges earned a master's degree in business administration from Harvard in 1953. He worked in sales and marketing with Owens Corning Fiberglass before joining Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1963. Menges played a key role in the firm's expansion and success, creating DLJ International, the nucleus of its activities abroad, and later chairing one of its two main groups,
