Two football players honored by NESCAC

Hamilton College's Mike MacDonald '13 (Glen Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall Preparatory School) and Dan Peters '13 (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna HS) were selected to the 2011 NESCAC football all-conference team on Nov. 17.

MacDonald and Peters were voted to the second team on defense. They helped lead Hamilton to a 3-5 record, the most wins for the Continentals since 1996.

MacDonald and Peters anchored a Hamilton defensive unit that finished third in the NESCAC in pass defense with 157.2 yards allowed per game, and fourth in total defense (307.2). This is the first all-conference selection for both.

MacDonald led Hamilton and ranked third in the NESCAC with 88 tackles. The linebacker finished sixth in the conference with 9.5 tackles for a loss, and ranked ninth with four sacks.

Peters tied for 10th in the NESCAC with 65 tackles. The defensive back ranked sixth in the conference with three interceptions, and tied for sixth with eight passes defended.
