Kipp Bovey scored with 0:45 remaining in the game to
propel Vermont, 5-9-1, to a 3-2 victory over Hamilton, 12-7-0, in an ECAC
Alliance battle.
Vermont jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Hamilton tied it midway through the second on a goal by Stacy Tyksinski. Betsy Ammel put Vermont ahead 2-1 at 15:18 of the second, but Hamilton's Charlotte Davet again tied the score with a goal at 5:50 of the third. Bovey scored the game winner for Vermont after a wild scramble in front of the Hamilton net.
Hamilton goaltender Isabel Roberts made 31 saves for the Contientals, who were outshot 34-11. Mell Bouchard stopped nine shots for the Catamounts.
The loss seriously jeopardizes Hamilton's chances to make the Alliance playoffs. The Continentals last remaining game is Sunday at undefeated Middlebury.
