Edward S. Walker, Jr. '62, former U. S. Ambassador to Israel, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates and the Christian A. Johnson Distinguished Professor of Global Political Theory, was interviewed by a number of media outlets during the month of June.

Walker's schedule for June included interviews with: Reuters, BBC Radio and Television, Al Arabia News Channel, Fox-TV, Bloomberg Radio,  The Jewish Week  and CBC Television. Walker also provided a background interview with CNN focusing on Gulf State attitudes regarding Iran and the United States over the next 12 to 18 months.

Also in demand as a speaker, Walker addressed an academic conference on the U.S. role in the Middle East region. On June 27, The Chicago Council on Global Affairs released the report of its task force titled, "Strengthening America: The Civic and Political Integration of Muslim Americans." Walker presented remarks on the task force report and noted that "any program for American Muslim integration is incomplete if it does not pay attention to what is happening in the Middle East."

A State Department veteran with a diplomatic career spanning 35 years, Walker is widely regarded as an expert on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.
