Members of Hamilton’s class of 2017 arrive on campus on Friday, Aug. 23. More than 360 first-year students took part in pre-orientation programs Adirondack Adventure and Outreach Adventure. The remaining members of the class will arrive and move in for New Student Orientation, which begins on Saturday, Aug. 24.
In the coming days the new students will meet with their advisors, discuss this year’s common reading, and enjoy social activities such as a dance party, trivia and big prize bingo. They’ll also do volunteer work through Hamilton Serves, an annual program that sends students out into the local community to do service projects.
Convocation, which marks the official start of the academic year, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and classes begin on Aug. 29.
