Hamilton College lost 2-0 against visiting Wesleyan University in a well-played New England Small College Athletic Conference West Division contest at Ferguson Fields on April 24.

The teams will square off for a doubleheader at the same site on Saturday, April 25.

Wesleyan (12-17 overall, 7-3 NESCAC West) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when the leadoff batter blasted a home run over the center field fence. The Cardinals scored the second and final run in the third.

Hamilton (5-25, 1-9) had five baserunners the entire game. The Continentals' best scoring chance came in the fourth inning with two outs when Leigh Sherrow '11 reached with a single through the left side. Mandy Hyne '11 beat out a ground ball to deep short to put two runners on, but were left stranded at the corners after the next batter lined out to second base to end the inning.

Sherrow led Hamilton with two hits. Megan Coughlin '09 pitched a solid seven innings. Coughlin allowed just two runs on five hits, walked two and struck out two. She also hit three batters.
