Jen Joinnides scored three goals as William Smith spoiled Hamilton's season opener. Susan Thibodeau added a goal and an assist for the Herons, who jumped out to a 2-0 lead five minutes into the game. Brenda DuPuis stopped five Hamilton shots to record the shutout, while Melissa Hyner made seven saves for the Continentals.
