Associate Professor of History Chad Williams presented a lecture titled “Torchbearers of Democracy: African Americans in the World War I Era” on March 21 at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center. The lecture was part of the center’s “Perspectives in Military History” monthly lecture series.

Located in Carlisle, Pa., the museum and education center focuses on the role of the soldier in the protection of the United States.
