Women Leaders in Kenya: A Legacy for the Future:
Anne U. Stone and Mary-Margaret Patterson provide us with a new and interesting look at women’s leadership. This report of Ralph U. Stone’s findings illuminate factors that influence women to become leaders in their communities and nations, including the importance of encouragement of girls by their fathers. The findings come from Ralph’s interviews with women leaders working throughout the public, private and non-profit sectors in Kenya. Ralph Stone was CEDPA’s Training Director until his untimely death in 1997. At the time of his death, Ralph has completed his research and was preparing his dissertation on women leaders in Kenya for presentation at The George Washington University. His mother, Anne U. Stone, completed his work and received Ralph’s posthumous doctoral degree in education on his behalf. All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the Ralph U. Stone Memorial Fund.
