Hamilton College finished first in the varsity eight in the Bridge to Bridge Regatta against Colgate University and St. Lawrence University on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Oct. 8.

Temperatures were in the 60s early, rose into the 70s later on and there was a slight headwind on the course.

Hamilton's varsity eight crossed the line in 25 minutes, 32.35 seconds on the 6.6-kilometer course.  Colgate was second in 25:39.49 and St. Lawrence was third in 26:04.46.  Hamilton's novice entry was fourth with a time of 27:02.39 and St. Lawrence's novice entry was fifth in 28:31.60.

Hamilton and St. Lawrence's "A" entry tied for first place in the varsity four, and St. Lawrence's "B" entry finished third.  Times were not available for any of the small boat races.

In the double sculls, Hamilton finished first, Colgate's "A" entry was second and its "B" entry was third.  In the single sculls, Colgate's "B" entry was first, followed by a tie for second place between Hamilton and Colgate's "A" entry.

Sophie Breene '12 was coxswain for the varsity eight.  The rest of the boat included Holly Bailey '12 at stroke, Virginia Slattery '12 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Becca Straw '14, Antonia Villa '12, Allie Boyaris '12, Dom Paiement '12, Allie Hoeltzel '14 and Keara Fenzel '14.

Lily Siff '15 was novice eight coxswain for Hamilton.  The rest of the lineup included Erin Gerrity '15 at stroke, Karly Moore '15 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Jess Pedersen '15, Margaret Hylas '15, Annie Lindahl '15, Caroline Walton '15, Ally Kontra'15 and Emma Zanazzi '15.

Keri Lloyd '15 was coxswain for the varsity four.  The rest of the boat included Leah Sorensen '14 at stroke, Katie Peterson '12 in the bow seat, Straw in the 3-seat and Paiement in the 2-seat.

Bailey was in the 2-seat and Villa was in the 1-seat for Hamilton's double scull.  Hoeltzel was the single scull entry.
