Hamilton College finished second of 33 entries in the collegiate fours at the Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River in Boston on Oct. 22.

Race conditions were overcast, with a 5-to-15 mph head wind on the course, and temperatures were around 60 degrees. 

Washington University (Mo.) won the collegiate fours, covering the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 56.43 seconds.  Hamilton was next in 20:07.00, and Middlebury College was third in 20:15.80.

Sophie Breene '12 was coxswain for the Continentals.  The rest of the boat included Holly Bailey '12 at stroke, Allie Boyaris '12 in the bow seat, Becca Straw '14 in the 3-seat and Antonia Villa '12 in the 2-seat.

Hamilton will compete in the collegiate eights at the Head of the Charles on Sunday, Oct. 23.
