Hamilton College's "A" entry finished second of 15 boats in the open club eights at the Head of the Schuylkill on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia on Oct. 29.

Temperatures were in the 40s early, and dropped into the 30s later on.  A steady rain changed to snow, and winds were variable from 5-to-15 mph.  All races scheduled to start after noon were cancelled due to the weather.

Hamilton's "A" entry in the open club eights covered the 2.5-mile course in 15 minutes, 1.68 seconds.  Drexel University finished first in 14:35.71, and Holy Cross was third in 15:17.49.  Hamilton's "B" entry finished in 11th place in 16:18.21.

In the novice eights, the University of Pennsylvania finished first of 28 entries with a time of 14:49.22.  Drexel came in second at 15:00.73 and Bucknell University was third in 15:02.52.  Hamilton finished in seventh place with a time of 15:35.75.

Hamilton finished fifth in the novice fours in 17:59.80.  LaSalle University took first place of 14 entries in 16:56.68, followed by Villanova University in 17:01.20, the University of Rochester in 17:21.54 and the University of Pennsylvania in 17:26.62.

Sophie Breene '12 was coxswain for Hamilton's club eight "A" entry.  The rest of the lineup included Keara Fenzel '14 at stroke, Karly Moore '15 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Katie Peterson '12, Erin Gerrity '15, Becca Straw '14, Dom Paiement '12, Virgina Slattery '12 and Antonia Villa '12.

Lily Siff '15 was coxswain for Hamilton's club eight "B" entry.  The rest of the lineup included Emma Zanazzi '15 at stroke, Jess Pedersen '15 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Ally Kontra '15, Margaret Hylas '15, Annie Lindahl '15, Caroline Walton '15, Meredith Garner '15 and Grace Bowers '15.

Siff also served as coxswain for the novice eight.  The rest of the boat included Zanazzi at stroke, Pedersen in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Kontra, Hylas, Lindahl, Walton, Moore and Gerrity.

Keri Lloyd '15 was Hamilton coxswain for the novice four.  The rest of the boat included Hideko Nara '15 at stroke, Lauren Degennaro '15 in the bow seat, Ellie Kiernan '15 in the 3-seat and Hanna Zucker '15 in the 2-seat.

Hamilton has completed its fall rowing schedule.
