Women's crew competes in Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

Hamilton College’s entry in the open heavy championship eights finished in 12th place at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta held in Philadelphia, Pa., on Oct. 24.
 
The weather conditions on Saturday were temperatures in the 60s with intermittent rain showers all day. There was a 10 to 20 mile-per-hour head wind on the course.
 
In the championship eights, Hamilton finished the 2.5-mile course with a time of 15 minutes, 53.2433 seconds. The Vesper Boat Club entry took first place finishing in 14:46.2867.
 
Hamilton's entry in the club eights came in 17th place recording a time of 17:51.2333. The U.S. Naval Academy finished first in 15:30.6967. In the novice eight race, Hamilton finished seventh of 29 entries with a time of 17:11.8733. The University of Pennsylvania boat finished first with a time of 16:36.5133.

Hamilton also entered a boat in the open fours and took 12th place out of 23 with a time of 19:41.9633. New York Athletic Club’s entry won the race finishing in 17:06.5567.

Sophie Breene '12 was coxswain for the championship eight. The rest of the boat included Lily Ericsson '10 at stroke, Holly Bailey '12 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Allison Boyaris '12, Erika Desmond '12, Lizzie Collins '10, Helen Quigley '10, Liz Ruemelin '12 and Eban Lewis '11.

Laura Boynton '12
 was coxswain for the club eight. The rest of the boat included Kendall Scott '10 at stroke, Haley Peterson '11 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Bret Lineberry '11, Katie Peterson '12, Virginia Slattery '12, Christine Raia '10, Katya Adair '10 and Catherine Florea '11.

Kelsey Burke '13 was coxswain for the novice eight. The rest of the boat included Rachel Johnson '13 at stroke, Ally Fried '13 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Riley Smith '12, Antonia Villa '12, Helen Higgins '13, Susannah Parkin '13, Fiona Hoffman-Harland '13 and Livy Houston '13.

Anisha Bhanot '13 was coxswain for the fours. The rest of the boat included Izzy Cannell '11 at stroke, Spencer Gulbronson '12 in the bow seat, Alice Dannenberg '11 in 3-seat and Catherine Prescott '12 in 2-seat.

Hamilton's fall season is complete.
