Hamilton College rowed against Colgate University in the Head of the Lake Moraine, which was held in Hamilton, N.Y., on Oct. 12.

Colgate defeated Hamilton in the varsity 8 with a time of 13:04 on the 3,500-meter course. Hamilton's time was 14:40. Hamilton had better luck in the novice 8 as its "A" boat won with a time of 14:40. Colgate finished a distant second in 15:47 and Hamilton's "B" was third in 15:59.

Two Colgate boats finished ahead of Hamilton's entry in the varsity 4. Colgate "B" won with a time of 14:38 while Hamilton was third in 15:45. Hamilton breezed to victory in the novice 4 with a time of 16:25. Colgate ended up with a time of 17:20.

Clair Cassiello '11 was coxswain for the varsity 8. Sarah Weatherall '12 was stroke and Eloise Walter '11 was in the bow seat. The rest of the rowers (seats seven through two in descending order) included: Holly Bailey '12, Pam Lewis '11, Eban Lewis '11, Christine Raia '10, Virginia Slattery '12 and Tory Harrison '11.

The novice 8 "A" coxswain was Sophie Breene '12, stroke was Erika Desmond '12 and Annika Treyball '12 was in the bow seat. The rest of the rowers (seats seven through two in descending order) included: Spencer Gulbronson '12, Liza Ruemelin '12, Katie Peterson '12, Catherine Prescott '12, Cara Vennari '12 and McKayla Dunfey '12.

Hannah Kahrmann-Zadak '12 was coxswain for the novice 8 "B", while Sarah Kelley '12 was stroke and Rebecca Pomerantz '12 was in the bow seat. The rest of the rowers (seats seven through two in descending order) included: Kathryn Steck '12, Kristin Forgrave '12, Alice Dannenberg '11, Eleni Panagios '11, Manique Talaia-Murray '12 and Rachel Rothbarth '12.

Cassiello was also the coxswain for the varsity 4. Weatherall was stroke, Bailey was 3-seat, Pam Lewis was 2-seat and Eban Lewis was in the bow seat.

Laura Boynton '12 was coxswain for the novice 4. Desmond was stroke, Gulbronson was 3-seat, Izzy Cannell '11 was 2-seat and Peterson was in the bow seat.

Hamilton competes in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Oct. 18 and 19.
