Hamilton College rowed in the Hobart/William Smith College Challenge on the Canal Regatta in Geneva, N.Y., on Oct. 4.

The varsity 8 finished in seventh place with a time of 18:43 on the 4,500-meter course. Ithaca College finished nearly 30 seconds ahead of the runners-up from the University of Rochester with a time of 16:33.

The varsity 4 also ended up in seventh place out of 12 boats with a time of 19:42. William Smith took first place in 18:34 and Rochester was second with a time of 18:42.

Clair Cassiello '11 was the coxswain for the varsity 8, Sarah Weatherall '12 was stroke and Eloise Walter '11 was in the bow seat. The rest of the lineup (seats seven through two in descending order) included: Allie Boyaris '12, Pam Lewis '11, Holly Bailey '12, Christine Raia '10, Eban Lewis '11 and Tory Harrison '11.

Catherine Florea '11 was the coxswain for the varsity 4. Weatherall was stroke and Bailey was in the bow. Boyaris was 3-seat and Pam Lewis was 2-seat.

Hamilton will scrimmage against Colgate University in the Head of the Lake Moraine on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 9 a.m. in Hamilton, N.Y.
