The Hamilton College Continentals placed third out of 11 teams in the 2013 New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Cross Country Championships held on Hamilton's campus on Oct. 26.

Results

Adrian Walsh '16 led the Continentals in fourth place out of 129 finishers with a time of 22 minutes, 51.3 seconds on the 6-kilometer course. Walsh, who is in her first year of cross country competition, earned the NYSCTC female rookie of the year award.

Sarah Ohanesian '14 was close behind in sixth place with a time of 23:02.4. Walsh and Ohanesian earned spots on the NYSCTC all-conference first team. The top 21 runners make the all-conference team.

Samantha Buttrick '17 took 19th place and landed on the all-conference third team with a time of 23:46.8. Hannah Kloeckner '14 ended up 22nd in 23:51.0 and Allie Gurney '14 rounded out Hamilton's top five in 27th place with a time of 24:16.1.

The Continentals finished with 77 team points and edged Rensselaer, which was fourth with 79. Nationally ranked No. 18 St. Lawrence University captured the team title with 34 points and Ithaca College was the runner-up with 64. St. Lawrence's Amy Cymerman was the individual winner with a time of 21:54.3.

Hamilton competes in the 2013 NESCAC Championships, hosted by Connecticut College, on Saturday, Nov. 2, at noon.
