Meredith FitzPatrick '11 led Hamilton College to a runner-up finish in the nine-team Hamilton Invitational on Oct. 9.

The Continentals finished with 46 team points, which was just one point behind team champion SUNY Brockport. Ithaca College was third with 99 points.

FitzPatrick led a trio of Hamilton runners that finished in the top 10. She was third in 19:02.4 on the 5-kilometer course. A total of 97 runners competed in the event, and the winning time was 18:32.8.

Abby King '11 placed sixth with a time of 19:22.9, and Emily Potter '12 ended up 10th in 19:32.9. Eva Hunt '11 finished 13th with a time of 19:38.1, and Sara Scheineson '12 rounded out the Continentals' top five right behind Hunt in 14th place and a time of 19:40.5.

Hamilton is off until Saturday, Oct. 23, when the Continentals compete in the 2010 New York State Collegiate Track Conference championships at Saratoga State Park in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
