The Hamilton College women's lacrosse team defeated Denison University, 18-6 this afternoon in the first round of the 2001 NCAA Division III Championships. Caty Wakefield led Hamilton with five goals. Sarah Gloo had four goals. Jessica Asrican made five saves in goal for the Continentals.
Hamilton dominated from the opening whistle, leading 10-3 at the half. Hamilton will face The College of New Jersey tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals. CNJ defeated Drew University, 14-8 in the day's first game.
