Hamilton College's Kate Fowler '10 (Branford, Conn./Wilton HS) has been selected the NCAA Division III Defensive Player of the Week by Womenslacrosse.com.
Fowler made a career-high 14 saves in Hamilton's 13-9 win against Middlebury College in an NCAA tournament regional final at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, on May 10. She stopped eight shots as the Continentals prevailed 8-7 against Williams College in a regional semifinal the day before.
Defending national champion Hamilton (16-2 overall) goes for a repeat this weekend at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. The Continentals play Franklin & Marshall College in an NCAA tournament semifinal at Roanoke's Donald J. Kerr Stadium on Saturday, May 16, at 8 p.m.
Salisbury University takes on Gettysburg College in the other semifinal on Saturday afternoon at 5. The semifinal winners meet for the national championship -- again at Roanoke -- on Sunday, May 17, at 3 p.m.
