Hamilton College women's lacrosse player Rachel Friedman '13 (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde HS) was selected to the 2013 Capital One Division III Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team for District 3 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on May 16.

Friedman, an economics major, is one of 10 student-athletes and one of four lacrosse players on the District 3 at-large team. District 3 is comprised of institutions located in New York.

Friedman ranked second on the team with 30 goals and 48 points, and led Hamilton with 18 assists and 35 draw controls. She tied for third with 24 ground balls.

Friedman finished third on the program’s all-time goal and point lists with 179 and 235, respectively. She set the team's single-season goals record with 70 in 2011. Friedman has racked up three all-academic team awards, and has made three all-conference teams and two all-region teams.

The all-district teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Student-athletes need to be at least sophomores in academic standing at their institution to be eligible. They also need to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better on a 4.0 scale.
