The Hamilton College women’s lacrosse and field hockey teams are working together to raise money and awareness for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families through support of The Friends of Jaclyn (FOJ) Foundation.

As part of the 2010 Friends of Jaclyn Week, the field hockey team will be accepting donations and selling T-shirts at both women’s lacrosse games this weekend. All proceeds go directly to The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. Hamilton hosts St. Lawrence University on Friday, April 9, at 4 p.m., and Clarkson University on Saturday, April 10, at 2. Both games are at Steuben Field.

FOJ is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families. Through the “Adopt-a-Child” program, FOJ creates lasting relationships between children battling pediatric brain tumors and athletic teams. The child becomes an honorary team member, gaining a new group of friends, and the team gets inspiration from the child. There are currently more than 200 children across the country adopted in 20 different sports.
