  • Women's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight Game

    Stots '07 Scores Four Times

    Hamilton College's Inga Stots '07 scored four goals and assisted on another to lead the nationally ranked Continentals to a 13-5 win against William Smith College at Campus Road Athletic Field on April 16.

    No. 11 Hamilton defeated Liberty League rival William Smith for the first time since 2001, when the Continentals won 18-13. Hamilton (5-1 league, 9-3 overall) has won three straight games and pulled into a tie for first place with Union College and Skidmore College in the league standings. The Continentals play at Union on Friday, April 22, at 4 p.m.

    Stots leads Hamilton with 36 goals and 44 points. She also won four draw controls. Nicole Barrett '08 chipped in three scores while Liz Longley '07, Suzy Belmont '07 and Jen McGowan '08 added two each. Hilary Gamble '07 and Kalley Greer '07 combined to make five saves. Tara Eckberg '08 was credited with five ground balls.

    The score was tied at 1 early in the first half when the Continentals seized control of the game with five straight goals, including three in a row from Stots. Belmont gave Hamilton a 6-1 lead with 6:25 left in the half and the Continentals led 7-2 at the break. The Herons (2-4, 5-6) didn't get any closer than four goals in the second half.
