Catherine Malcolm '14 scored in the first half and Hamilton College held on for a 1-0 win against Skidmore College in a Liberty League game at Skidmore's Wachenheim Field on Sept. 25.

Malcolm headed in her first goal of the season at 14:46 on an assist by Megan Cairns '12Liza Gergenti '14 preserved the lead in the 37th minute when she stopped a Skidmore player's header from inside the box. Skidmore's goalie kept the Continentals from making it 2-0 with a diving save on Laura Wray '11 in the 61st minute.

Gergenti had her first shutout this season by making five saves. Wray, Lauren Brady 14, Malcolm and Meg Pengue '12 all had shots on goal for Hamilton. Skidmore (3-3-2 overall, 0-1-1 Liberty) outshot the Continentals 10-8.

Hamilton (5-1-1, 1-1-0) travels to nationally ranked William Smith College for another league contest on Saturday, Oct. 2.
