The Hamilton College women's soccer team opened their 2001 season at home this afternoon against Brockport State. Despite being out-shot by Hamilton the Golden Eagles were victorious, 2-0.
Stephanie Rosenhahn opened the scoring in the 12th minute when she dropped a shot over the head of Hamilton's goalkeeper Brenna Chiaputti from the top of the penalty area. The Continentals had their share of scoring chances in the first half but could not get a shot past Brockport's keeper, Mary Maslanka.
Leanne Gedraitis sealed the victory for Brockport State when she got behind the defense and had a clean break to the net. Her shot barely beat goalie Jen Munoz to the low-left corner.
