Women's squash falls at Stanford
Hamilton College's Rachel Newman '16 was the Continentals' lone match winner in their 8-1 setback against Stanford University at Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif., on Jan. 7.
Hamilton (4-2 overall) had its win streak come to an end at four matches. The Continentals are No. 16 in the most recent College Squash Association rankings that were released on Dec. 8, 2013, and Stanford is at No. 7.
Newman jumped out to a two games to none lead at the second position and held on to win in five. She prevailed 11-9 in the deciding game and improved her record to 4-1 this season.
The Continentals don't play again until Wednesday, Jan. 15, when they travel to NESCAC rival Bates College.
