The sixth-seeded Continentals lost 9-0 to third-seeded Middlebury in the quarterfinals before they topped seventh-seeded Bowdoin College 6-3 in the consolation round. Hamilton will face fifth-seeded Amherst College in Sunday’s fifth-place match with a chance to match the program’s best finish at the NESCAC event.

In the Bowdoin win, Isabelle Weisman ’15 won her team-leading 16th match by sweeping her opponent at the fourth position. Rafiatou Ouro-Aguy ’18 and Haley Connor ’18 both improved to 14-5 with wins at the sixth and seventh positions, respectively.

Rachel Newman ’16 is now 12-3 after a four-game victory at the second position and Marina Hartnick ’18 reached double-figures, collecting her 10th win by sweeping at the ninth position. Grace Munschauer ’18 rounded out Hamilton’s winners, holding off her opponent for a five-game victory at the eighth position.

The 13-6 Continentals will be looking for their third fifth-place finish in the past four seasons when they take on Amherst at 9 a.m. [note: Sunday’s schedule was moved up an hour because of the anticipated weather conditions]. The Lord Jeffs posted a 7-2 win over Hamilton last month.
