Hamilton College women's swimmers Megan Gibbons '12 (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights HS) and Maggie Rosenbaum '14 (Alford, Mass./Monument Mountain Regional HS) earned 2011-12 NESCAC all-conference honors based on their performance in the 2012 NESCAC women's swimming & diving championships at Wesleyan University's Natatorium from Feb. 17 to Feb. 19.

2011-12 NESCAC women's swimming and diving all conference team

Rosenbaum was selected swimmer of the meet after she finished first in all three backstroke events and set meet records in two of those events. She is the first Hamilton female to receive this award. All athletes that finish in the top three of any individual or relay event make the all-conference team.

Rosenbaum's time of 26.02 seconds in the 50-yard back set NESCAC, championship meet and pool records on Friday. She added another meet record and automatic NCAA Division III championships cut time of 55.23 seconds in the 100 back on Saturday. She wrapped up the meet with a team-record and automatic NCAA cut time of 1:59.94 in the 200 back on Sunday. Rosenbaum has won all six backstroke events in two years at the conference championship.

Gibbons captured third place in the 50 freestyle on Friday. She finished in the top three each of the last three years and won the 50 free in 2010. She claimed first place and met an NCAA championships provisional cut in the 100 free with a time of 51.50 seconds on Sunday. She tied her own program record with a time of 51.43 seconds in the preliminary heats. Gibbons was all-NESCAC in the 100 free for the third straight year.

The Continentals finished ninth out of 11 schools in the team standings at the NESCAC championship with 636 points.
