Megan Gibbons '12 finished first in two freestyle events to lead Hamilton College to dual meet victories against Clarkson University and Division II program East Stroudsburg University as part of the Key West Invitational in Florida on Jan. 7.
Results
Hamilton defeated East Stroudsburg 88-60 and breezed past Clarkson, 107-36. The Continentals return north and travel to Middlebury College for a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 14.
Gibbons captured the 50-yard free in 26.00 seconds and claimed the 100 free in 56.12 seconds. She was also part of a 200 medley relay that finished first in 1:55.67. Maggie Rosenbaum '14, Gabrielle Goione '12 and Joanie Burton '13 rounded out the relay.
Rosenbaum was an easy winner in the 50 backstroke with a time of 29.65 seconds. She finished runner-up in the 100 individual medley in 1:03.31. She led off Hamilton's winning 400 free relay that recorded a time of 3:37.02. Allie Reeder '14, Sarah Larson '15 and Goione were also part of the relay.
Goione took first place in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 34.15 seconds. Burton ended up second in an exciting 50 butterfly event. Her time of 28.27 seconds was just .04 seconds behind the winner. There was no diving competition.
