Six Hamilton College women's tennis players competed in the 2010 U.S. Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Northeast Regional championships in Geneva, N.Y., on Sept. 25 and 26.

Deb Barany '11 was seeded 11th in the 64-player singles championship draw. Barany advanced to the third round with a three-set win (2-6, 6-1, 6-3) against a University of Rochester opponent, and a straight-set victory (6-4, 6-1) against a SUNY Cortland opponent. Barany lost in the round of 16 to the third seed from The College of New Jersey.

Alex Arenson '13 and Vrinda Khanna '13 lost in the first round to the draw's fifth seed and seventh seed, respectively. Both players won a match in the consolation draw.

In doubles action, Margaret Lee '14 and Sara Shaughnessy '14 were easy 8-2 winners in the championship draw's first round against a pair from St. John Fisher College. Lee and Shaughnessy then fell 8-3 to the second seed from Rochester. Megan Kelley '14 and Khanna dropped a first round match to a duo from Richard Stockton College.

Hamilton hosts William Smith College for a dual match and the final event of the fall season on Saturday, Oct. 2.
