The Hamilton College women’s tennis team snapped a four-match losing streak with a 7-2 non-conference win at Ithaca College on Wednesday. The Continentals improved to 11-7 with the victory.
Three Continentals were double winners, including Winnie Tang '17, whose straight-set win at second flight singles clinched the match. Tang, who is now 10-5 on the season, also teamed with Isabella Schoning '16 for an 8-6 win at second flight doubles. The pair are 8-5 this season. Schoning was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at third flight singles.
Hamilton’s winningest doubles team, the pairing of Claire Keyte '17 and Mira Khanna '15, recorded an 8-5 win at third flight. The duo has a 12-5 record this season. Keyte, now 12-6 on the year, defeated her fourth flight singles opponent in straight sets.
Rachel Friedman '15 raised her team-leading singles mark to 13-4 by winning 6-1, 6-1 at fifth flight singles. Carrie Uhlein '15 rounded out Hamilton’s winners with a sixth flight singles victory.
The Continentals return to action on Saturday, April 18, with a NESCAC match at nationally ranked No. 33 Trinity College.
