Muriel Schwinn '13 won the long jump and finished in the top six in three events as Hamilton College hosted the non-team scoring, multi-divisional Hamilton Invitational at Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Feb. 5.

The other teams were the University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, Union College, Utica College, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Geneseo and Syracuse University.

Schwinn was first in the long jump with a mark of 5.18 meters (17-feet-0). She qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III championships in the event. She finished third in the 55-meter dash with a finals time of 7.66 seconds, and ended up sixth in the 200-meter dash in 28.01 seconds.

Maddy Gunter '11 took second place in the 800-meter run (2:32.15) and third place in the mile (5:33.35). Erin West '11 followed Gunter in the mile in sixth place with a time of 5:38.00.

Meredith FitzPatrick '11 was runner-up in the 3,000-meter run (11:09.62), and Emily Heckman '13 was second in the 500-meter dash (1:24.81). Abby King '11 finished sixth in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:19.05. Brooke Rayder '11 took sixth in the finals of the 55-meter hurdles. Rayder's time in prelims was 9.58 seconds.

Molly Brooks '14 finished fifth in the shot put with a distance of 10.07 meters (33-0½).

The Continentals host the 2011 Liberty League indoor track and field championships on Saturday, Feb. 12.
