Women's track & field places 10th at NESCAC championships


Hamilton College finished 10th out of 11 teams at the 2012 NESCAC men's and women's track & field championships at Bates College's Russell Street Track in Lewiston, Maine, on April 28.

RESULTS

Hannah Jaiven '14 ended up in eighth place in the pole vault as she cleared 3.05 meters (10 feet, 0 inches). Jaiven finished fifth in the event in 2011.

Hamilton took seventh place in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 9:51.19. Members of the relay included Sarah Boak '12, Emily Heckman '13, Sarah Ohanesian '14 and Glenn Watkins '12. Watkins also finished ninth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.52.

The Continentals posted three team points, while nationally ranked No. 6 Williams College captured the team title with 180. Three NESCAC programs are ranked in the top 25 in Division III.

Hamilton competes in the 2012 New York State Collegiate Track Conference outdoor championships at the University of Rochester on Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5.
