Women's volleyball drops pair of NESCAC matches

Hamilton College lost New England Small College Athletic Conference matches to Connecticut College and Wesleyan University at Conn. College's Luce Field House on Oct. 10.
Hamilton (3-20 overall, 0-5 NESCAC) fell in three sets to Wesleyan (25-23, 25-17, 25-20). The Continentals also lost in three to Connecticut College (25-11, 25-13, 25-16).
Against Wesleyan (8-10, 4-3), Ally Martella '13 recorded a team-high eight kills. Amanda Cohen '13 added six kills, and led defensively with 11 digs. Alex Singh '11 added six kills and two aces. Rachel Irizarry '12 was credited with six digs. Alyssa Hopper '13 served two aces. Liz Reid '11 blocked two hitting attempts, and Cecelie Pikus ‘13 passed out 17 assists.
In the match against Conn. College (14-4, 5-2), Martella led with three kills and 11 digs. Both Cohen and Irizarry added six digs. Pikus passed out six assists and served two aces.
The Continentals return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 13, when they host Cazenovia College for a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
