Hamilton College lost its first two matches in the Emerson College/Wentworth Institute of Technology Tournament held at Emerson in Boston, Mass., on Sept. 4.

Hamilton (0-2 overall) fell to Ramapo College of New Jersey in five sets (19-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 15-6). The Continentals were then swept by the hosts in three sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-14).

Jasmine Jolly '10 recorded 10 kills, 10 digs and two aces against Ramapo (1-1) in her first action for Hamilton since 2007. Amanda Cohen '13 chipped in nine kills and seven digs. Rachel Irizarry '12 was credited with a team-high 13 digs. Ally Martella '13 led the defense at the net with three blocks. Cecelie Pikus '13 and Alyssa Hopper '13 had 16 and eight assists, respectively.

Alex Singh '11 and Jolly hammered three kills apiece against Emerson (2-0). Martella served three aces and Hopper added two. Cohen dug out eight hitting attempts and Pikus passed out six assists.

The Continentals take on Wentworth at Wentworth on Saturday morning at 10. The final match of the weekend is against Framingham State -- a Massachusetts school -- at noon.
