Hamilton College split a pair of four-set matches on the final day of the Victory Promotions Invitational at St. Lawrence University's Burkman Gym on Sept. 10.

Hamilton (6-2 overall) defeated St. Lawrence by scores of 26-24, 20-25, 25-20 and 25-21 in the first match of the afternoon. The Continentals later fell to Division II Saint Michael's College (25-15, 25-17, 24-26, 25-16). Megan McCareins '14 was Hamilton's all-tournament team representative.

Against St. Lawrence (5-4), McCareins led the way with 10 kills and 17 digs. Ally Martella '13 and Meredith Nuber '14 pounded nine kills apiece. Martella and Nuber led the defense at the net with six blocks and four blocks, respectively.

Anna Brown '15 was credited with 17 digs and three aces. Cecelie Pikus '13 passed out a team-high 18 assists and added 12 digs. Rachel Irizarry '12 served three aces, and Sarah Pfund '14 had 13 assists.

Against Saint Michael's (6-3), Nuber and Ava Kelley '15 posted six kills and three blocks apiece. Brenna Corrigan '14 chipped in five kills and 11 digs. Brown paced the defense with 22 digs, and Amanda Cohen '13 added 13. Pikus registered 17 assists and 13 digs, and Martella finished with three blocks.

The Continentals finished the tournament with a 2-2 record. Hamilton hosts Utica College for a non-conference match and "High School Night" on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
