A dinner and reading by author Colum McCann was the culminating event for students in this semester’s Program in New York City.  The event was part of the Eat, Drink & Be Literary series sponsored by the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). One Weekend, 450 Miles Through the Adirondacks

Over the weekend of Oct. 2-3, the College 220 class, “The Cultural and Natural Histories of the Adirondacks,” explored several Adirondack natural sites, visited the historic John Brown’s cabin in North Elba, and took part in a seminar on paddler’s rights during an overnight visit to Camp Wenonah, owned by alumnus James Schoff, ’68.  More ...

Not Just Another Day at The Office With Paul Lieberstein '89 on the Hill
Cracking his first joke of many, Paul Lieberstein said that “it’s like a bizarre reunion where I’m the only one who’s aged,” referring to the standing-room only crowd in Wellin Hall on April 16. Lieberstein graduated from Hamilton in 1989 with a degree in economics, but, as everyone in the audience was well-aware, he became a household name not as an auditor but as a writer and actor on the hit NBC show The Office. Ultimately getting to that destination, however, was not easy: Lieberstein had to climb over and sidle past unhelpful career counselors, dead-end bank jobs, crazed bosses, incompetent agents and Los Angeles itself. David Monaco '89 has been named the next head of the Parish Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas.  Monaco will be replacing the school's long-standing head, Gloria Synder, when she steps down in June.  At Hamilton, Monaco was a history major and a member of the football team.  More ...
