Steve Reynolds '93 Receives Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service

On Oct. 19, Steve Reynolds '93 was presented with an Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service -- the Department of Justice’s second-highest honor -- for his role in the investigation and prosecution of Bridgeport, Connecticut resident Faisal Shahzad for the attempted bombing of Times Square in New York City on May 1, 2010.  Attorney General Eric Holder recognized Reynolds as well as several other federal prosecutors and law enforcement agents from New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts during the 59th Annual Attorney General Awards Ceremony at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.

NYC Program Visits Alumni at Barclays Capital

On September 21, students in Hamilton's New York City program visited the Barclays Capital building for a discussion hosted by Hamilton alumni George Mack ’93 and Alexandra Leighton ’09. Barclays Capital, located on 49th Street and 7th Avenue, is one of the world’s premier investment banks.

Art by Leigh Taylor Mickelson '93 to Be Exhibited

Beginning July 7, the Kenise Barnes Fine Art Gallery in Larchmont, NY, will feature the work of Leigh Taylor Mickelson '93 in the exhibition "Got to Get Back to the Garden." The exhibition will display art inspired by nature and created from unusual materials, including fabric, ceramic, and cut Mylar. Mickelson describes her ceramic sculpture as an exploration of one of the most recent inspirations for her work: a plant’s will to pollinate.  For her, the private "business" of flowering plants reveals a world that mimics human interaction to a fascinating degree.

Hispanic linguist Juan R. Valdez '93 will present a lecture on Thursday, April 7 at 4:10 p.m. at the Days-Massolo Center. The lecture, titled “Feeling Spanish: The Linguistic Self-Image of Dominicans,” is free and open to the public.

Art of Paul Lloyd Sargent '93 in Multiple Exhibitions

The works of artist Paul Lloyd Sargent ‘93 can be found in multiple exhibitions in New York State and New England this spring. An exhibition Sargent curated, titled “Precious Cargo” at the University at Buffalo Art Gallery, is running from March 18 to May 15. It is a group exhibition of contemporary art and design projects that address the issues of international shipping and transport and possible local and regional alternatives. He is currently the 2010 artist in residence at the gallery.

Rice Memorial High School in south Burlington, Vermont, has named Hamilton graduate Damian DiGiulian '93 as head coach of their newly expanded hockey program. DiGiulian graduated Hamilton with a BA in History and was a member of the Men's Hockey Team. More ...
