A collection of jewelry by Allie Pohl '07 is featured in an Orlando Sentinel article titled “‘Ideal Woman’ necklace protests unrealistic view of beauty” (1/20/10). Pohl’s jewelry pieces – colorful pendants in the shape of a curvy female torso – symbolize the real woman and are designed to challenge the unattainable (and highly Photoshopped) images of beauty that saturate the media today. Mary Beth Day '07 was one of 37 U.S. students recently awarded a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. The scholarship allows candidates from any country outside the United Kingdom to pursue masters or Ph.D. degrees at the University of Cambridge. According to The Advocate of Stamford, Conn., Kerry Leonard '0, who scored 24 goals and assisted on 24 others in 75 games during her three seasons on Hamilton's ice hockey team, has taken on the formidable task of developing the girls' ice hockey program at Wilton High School in Wilton, Conn.
