Caitlin McGilley '08 is Named Hamilton's Seventh GOLD Scholar

Thanks to the generous support of its young alumni, Hamilton College is pleased to name Caitlin McGilley '08, of Northfield, NJ, as its seventh GOLD Scholar.

Caitlin's Hamilton experience began in 2004, but it wasn't until the fall of 2007 that she realized one of her greatest triumphs: helping the Hamilton Women's Soccer team beat previously undefeated Williams in NCAA Division III sectional semifinals.  With the cards stacked against the Continentals, McGilley, Hamilton's fearless goalie, made eight saves ensuring a 2-1 victory on Williams' home pitch that left the Ephs wondering what happened.  A crowning achievement on a great Hamilton career, the victory is emblematic of Caitlin's poise, competitive spirit and character.  More ...

Thanks to the generous support of its young alumni, Hamilton College is pleased to name Akilah Bond '09, of Amherst, Mass., as its sixth GOLD Scholar.

The moment Akilah arrived for her tour and interview at the Admission office, however, she immediately saw herself as part of the campus.  Her tour, lead by Ben Critton '06, reinforced those initial feelings, as she felt natural and at home with the current and potential students.  And a stop through Commons for ice-cream bars and a breather nearly sealed the deal right on the spot.  Add to that an open curriculum, a devoted track coach and limitless options after graduation and she was sold.  Akilah applied EDI and was accepted in December. It's Who We Are
As members of the Hamilton family, giving back is a defining characteristic of who we are.  We contribute as volunteer leaders and donors to the institutions and causes we believe in most deeply.  For many of us Hamilton is central among our priorities.  We give to the College to support curious, motivated students and the professors who teach them.  We give to provide a rich variety of experiences to students inside and outside the classroom.  We give to ensure that Hamilton's doors are always open to the most deserving young people, regardless of their economic circumstances.

As we approach the end of the calendar year, please accept our deepest thanks for all you do for Hamilton.  We invite you to take a moment to watch the Annual Fund Flash Media presentation.  We are certain you will enjoy it.

Happy Holidays from the Hamilton College Alumni Office! More ...
