New Couper Press Book Focuses on Masonic Imagery

Symbols in the Wilderness: Early Masonic Survivals in Upstate New York, co-authored by Director of Special Collections Christian Goodwillie, began with a chance glance at a building as he drove to Cooperstown, N.Y. Intrigued by the structure, Western Star Lodge and now the Bridgewater Masonic Lodge, he became even more interested in the art work it once housed. Thus Goodwillie’s exploration of Masonic symbols – expressed in paintings, murals, textiles and graphics – began.

Media Celebrate Wellin Museum Show in Final Week

“What a wonderful way to end the Yun-Fei Ji show,” proclaimed Wellin Museum of Art Director Tracy Adler as two articles, both celebrating Yun-Fei Ji: The Intimate Universe, appeared online during the final week of the exhihibiton. Building a Gallery Exhibit from the Ground Up

Michelle Woodward ’17 is not one to let things slide. The Hamilton College art history major started a methodical search for summer internships during the fall semester, when she was studying in Siena, Italy. Woodward spent a week researching New York City art galleries that feature modern and contemporary art, complied a list of 10 to 15 of them and pumped out an individualized cover letter and a résumé to each.  More ...
