Students Visit Christie's Auction House

Ten Hamilton students interested in the art market visited Christie’s fine arts auction house in New York City on March 28. A massive, vibrant Sol LeWitt mural greeted attendees at Christie’s headquarters in Rockefeller Plaza and foreshadowed an exciting day. Mary Evans, director of Hamilton’s Career Center, remarked, “This is a great opportunity for students to learn about the art auction business in an internationally pre-eminent setting.”  More ...

Students Explore Careers in Publishing in NYC Workshop

Some people know, from the first time they see their name in print, that they want to write. Others learn over time that they excel in editing. And still others don’t realize until their senior spring that they possess the interpersonal and persuasive skills that make successful publicists. On March 29, Hamilton students and alumni convened at the Brooklyn Public Library to discuss the publishing industry and the myriad roles one might play within it. It Just Takes a Smigin

Imagine that you need to ask for directions in Madrid, but those three years of high school Spanish didn’t leave a lasting impression. Fear not, because for quick phrases on-the-go, it just takes a Smigin. Smigin is a new mobile translating app that allows users to build phrases and instantly receive accurate translations by selecting sentence fragments from three drop-down boxes.  The app went live in the Apple® app store on Monday, Feb. 17.  More ...

Some 120 students and community members recently spent the day working on their mojo—but there wasn’t much voodoo or magic involved. Exploring the Possibilities

The Career Center’s 4th round of HamiltonExplore provided 120 underclassmen the opportunity to explore career interests during winter break.  The shadowing program is designed to assist sophomore students with career exploration and decision making by offering the opportunity to “shadow” (observe) a Hamilton alumnus/a or parent in the workplace for a day or part of a day.  More ...

Overlooking New York City’s Times Square from the Condé Nast Building on Oct. 19,  students and alumni gathered for the Career Center’s latest “Career Explo” program. Alumni Panelists Address Public Health

As Fallcoming Weekend approaches, Hamilton alumni have begun to trickle back to campus. Among the first to return were Dr. Michael Kelberman ’80, Karen McDonnell ’91, Alysia Mihalakos ’01, Allison Demas ’07 and James Liebow ’13.
