Morris House
Morris House Dedication, Ambassador Pickering Lecture Among Fallcoming Highlights

The dedication of Morris House as Hamilton’s newest residence hall and a lecture by career diplomat Thomas Pickering about the status of Iran will be among highlights of Hamilton’s Fallcoming Weekend, Oct. 1-4.   Football, men’s and women’s soccer and field hockey will host games on Saturday, a capella groups will perform and the Alumni Association will hold its annual recognition dinner.  View the full schedule of the weekend’s events; some highlights follow.  More ...

Two Exhibitions Open at Wellin Museum

Two exhibitions saturated with historical and cultural references, Karen Hampton: The Journey North and Tales of the Conjure Woman: Lady Fatima as Transmitted through Renée Stout, will open at Hamilton’s Wellin Museum of Art on Saturday, Oct. 3, with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. The reception and exhibitions are free and open to the public and will be on view through Dec. 20.  More ...

Kuharic’s Work Featured in St. Louis Exhibition

Venice Show Features Salzillo’s Print

“Moonstruck” by Professor of Art William Salzillo will be featured in an exhibition at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice. The print was one of 30 selected for the Los Angeles Printmaking Society International Exchange Exhibition that runs from July 28 through August 15.  More ...

Wellin Museum Presents Two Exhibitions

Since the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art opened in 2012, its permanent collection has grown through gifts and select purchases. Wellin Collects, opening May 5, showcases new and recent acquisitions in a variety of media. Senior Art Thesis 2015, also opening on May 5, displays new work by graduating art majors. Spanning drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, the exhibition represents a culmination of their studies.  More ...

Critic Declares Wellin’s Shotz Show “Extraordinary”

“Some exhibitions are very good and you leave with a feeling that the artist met your expectations ... Lecture about Animated Film at Wellin Museum

Artist Alyson Shotz, drummer and music educator Nasheet Waits, and animator Todd Akita will present a lecture on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 4:15 p.m., in the Wellin Museum Overlook. They will discuss the process of creating “The Bedroom: Time Lapse,” an animated film featured in the Wellin’s current exhibition “Alyson Shotz: Force of Nature.”  More ...
