Teaching Awards Presented to Three at Class & Charter Day Ceremony

May 14, 2013 

Hamilton College’s highest awards for teaching were presented to three faculty members during the annual Class & Charter Day ceremony on May 13.  Professor of Music Lydia Hamessley, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Abhishek Amar and Rob Knight, assistant professor of art, received awards. Assistant Professor of Government Ted Lehmann was named the recipient of Student Assembly’s Sidney Wertimer Award.

Faculty Honored With Dean's Scholarly Achievement Awards

Six Hamilton faculty members were recognized for their research and creative successes with the Dean’s Scholarly Achievement Awards, presented by Dean of Faculty Patrick Reynolds during Class & Charter Day on May 13. The awards recognize individual accomplishment but reflect a richness and depth of scholarship and creative activity across the entire faculty.

Dean's Scholarly Achievement Awards Presented to Six Faculty Members

Six members of the Hamilton faculty were recognized for their research and creative successes with the Dean’s Scholarly Achievement Awards, presented by Dean of Faculty Patrick Reynolds at Class & Charter Day on Friday, May 4. The Awards recognize individual accomplishments, but reflect a richness and depth of scholarship and creative activity across the entire faculty.  The awards were made in three categories: Career Achievement, Early Career Achievement and Notable Year Achievement.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Names Recipients

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood has named Visiting Professor of Art History Scott MacDonald an Academy Scholar for 2012. Each year the Academy chooses two scholars nationwide, awarding each a grant to pursue a research project.

Gant Named New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow

July 12, 2011 

Associate Professor of Art Ella Gant was named a 2011 Fellow in digital/electronic arts by the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA). NYFA awarded $728,000 in unrestricted cash grants of $7,000 to 105 artists throughout New York State. Fellows were selected from a pool of 3,692 applicants in the categories of crafts/sculpture; digital/electronic work; non-fiction literature; printmaking/drawing/book arts, and poetry.
