Tyson Stars in Great Names Visit

The Sacerdote Great Names Lecture Series celebrated its 20th anniversary with American astrophysicist and pop-science star Neil deGrasse Tyson who visited Hamilton on April 12. Tyson was the first scientist to be a guest in the Series, despite Hamilton being a “very science-friendly campus,” as President Joan Stewart stated in her opening remarks. “He continues to reach those who thought they never would, or could, be interested in science,” she went on, “and tonight we will have an experience of wonder.”  More ...

Ticket information for Great Names speaker American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson is available now on the Great Names website. Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium, will appear as the first scientist in the Hamilton College Sacerdote Great Names Series on Tuesday, April 12, at 7 p.m., in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. He will give an interactive presentation which will followed by a question and answer period. The event will be free and open to the public.  More ...

The opening of the Kevin and Karen Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Performing Arts and former New York Yankees captain and shortstop Derek Jeter’s visit to Hamilton in December drew a great deal of interest from local media during 2014.
