15th Annual MLK Service Day Puts Students to Work in Community

More than 80 students volunteered at non-profit agencies in the local community on Saturday, Jan. 26, for Hamilton’s 15th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day. Hamilton Association for Volunteering, Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) sent groups of students to 19 different sites to spend the afternoon working on various projects.  More ...

Students Paws for Study Break with Rome Humane Society Pets

For the third semester, Hamilton students were able to take a break from studying for finals and spend some time relaxing with pets from the Rome Humane Society in an event hosted by HAVOC and Active Minds.  Three cats were brought to the Fillius Events Barn for the event on Dec. 13, followed by two dogs on the 14th.  More ...

Students Make a Difference at Local Volunteer Sites

More than 150 Hamilton students took part in this year’s annual Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) Make a Difference Day. Dressed in bright green HAVOC t-shirts, students signed up for a wide range of volunteer opportunities to engage in for the day, from homes for the elderly to animal sanctuaries.  More ...

Students Paws to Relax With Rome Humane Society Pets

As the end of classes and final exams approach students had the chance to de-stress and relax with dogs and cats from the Rome Humane Society during “Paws to Relax” on April 27 in the Fillius Events Barn. Students could buy time to spend with the animals and money raised went to the Rome Humane Society. The event was sponsored by HAVOC and Active Minds.  More ...

HAVOC Bursts the Bubble

April 9-14 marked the first Hamilton Association for Volunteering, Outreach, and Charity  (HAVOC) Outreach Awareness Week at Hamilton. The purpose of Awareness Week, dubbed “Burst the Bubble,” was to illustrate volunteer opportunities at Hamilton and to stress the value of community outreach. HAVOC sponsored and organized a variety of volunteer opportunities, speakers and events throughout the week, culminating with SpringFest on Saturday.

More than 100 students went out to serve the local community on Saturday, Jan. 21, for Hamilton’s 14th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day. Annual HAVOC Make a Difference Day Draws 200

Anyone who has participated in one of Hamilton Association for Volunteering Outreach and Charity (HAVOC) days of service knows that the adage “the early bird catches the worm” readily applies to the sign-up process. By 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, volunteers had already begun lining up at tables in the Fillius Events Barn, eager to match themselves with the sites of their choices for HAVOC’s annual Make a Difference Day.  More ...
