In her paper, “Usher Unsilenced: Tokugawa Musei, Benshi Performance, and Modernist Adaptation,” Omori sought to shed light on the trans-mediatic underpinnings of Japanese popular modernism.

The Tamagawa University Taiko (Drum) and Dance Group will give a workshop and performance on Wednesday, April 3, in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts. The Senior Art Show 2011, a presentation of works by 11 graduating art majors, will open at the Emerson Gallery on Thursday, April 21. The exhibition includes photography, drawing, painting, mixed media and sculpture. An opening reception will be held Thursday, April 21, from 4-6 p.m. at the gallery. The show will close on Sunday, May 22.
