Honor Code Document Transformed by First-Year Group

Under the leadership of Visiting Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing Andrew Rippeon, first-year students in the Letterpress Printing and Book Arts Experience Adventure orientation group created a new honor code document that – from both tactile and visual perspectives – conveys the seriousness of its message. In a shift in tradition, the documents were distributed during convocation. After first-year students signed their copies, orientation leaders collected them and Honor Court Chair Taylor Elicegui ’17 presented them with Conor O’Shea ’18, a member of the court, to President Stewart.  More ...

Where in the World is Hamilton's Class of 2019?

Hamilton's new student Orientation is taking a new track this year as all 475 members of the Class of 2019 participate in “Adventure Trips.” Previously, incoming students had the option of participating in a pre-orientation Adirondack Adventure or Outreach Adventure trip. January Admits, Transfers Settle in

Hamilton Welcomes Class of '18 January Admits, Transfers

Thirty-nine members of the class of ’18 as well as six transfer students arrived on the Hill on Jan. 16 to register, move in and take part in Hamilton orientation.  The College offers January admission to about 35-45 students per year to fill vacancies created by students on leave and studying abroad.  More ...

A Fine First-Year Experience

The first semester of Hamilton’s pilot program, First Year Experience (FYE), has concluded and been deemed a success by Coordinator of Orientation and First-Year Programs Tessa Chefalo. She reports that approximately half of the first-year class participated in some type of FYE programming, including Core Sessions, FYE social programming, and/or FYE-eligible events.  More ...

All 470 members of Hamilton’s Class of 2018 got a peek at the surrounding community when they participated in the 7th annual Hamilton Serves on Aug. 27.  Students spent the morning volunteering at one of 61 local non-profit agencies.

Welcome to the Class of 2018!

Members of Hamilton’s class of 2018 arrive on campus to begin New Student Orientation on Saturday, Aug. 23. More than 280 first-year students took part in pre-orientation programs Adirondack Adventure, Outreach Adventure and the new eXploration Adventure and returned to campus on Friday. The remaining members of the class will arrive and move in for New Student Orientation, which begins on Saturday, Aug. 23.  More ...

6th Annual Hamilton Serves Joins Students With Community

The sixth annual Hamilton Serves took place on Wednesday, Aug. 28, with all 492 members of the Class of 2017 and new transfer students going out to volunteer at 57 community organizations. Hamilton Serves began as an Orientation activity in 2008 with the class of 2012.  More ...
