Students in the Hamilton Program in New York visited the Tenement Museum on Sept. 18. The museum, located in a restored tenement on the Lower East Side, gave insight into the lives of working immigrants during the 19th and 20th centuries. The students toured various rooms in the tenement that each depicted a certain time period in the history of the building.  More ...

NY Program Visits Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Bob Kinkel '79

NYC Program students spent a recent morning with Hamilton alumnus Bob Kinkel ’79 at Spin Recording Studios, a 4,000 square foot, world-class audio recording  studio in Long Island City.  Kinkel is a professional keyboardist and music engineer best known for his role as a co-creator/co-producer/co-composer and touring keyboardist with Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  More ...

The New York Program visit to BNY Mellon at One Wall St. consisted of a luncheon, followed by a panel discussion with alums and parents of Hamilton College students, then a tour of the company’s museum, which holds a loan agreement signed by Alexander Hamilton given to the U.S. government. The trip ended with a brief tour of the company’s former public banking floor,  known as the Red Room.  More ...

New York Program Visits the Federal Reserve Bank of New York

As the fall semester concluded, Hamilton students on the New York Program toured the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to hear about the global macroeconomic trends and visit the Reserve gold vault. They met with Paolo Pesenti, vice president in the research department and former Princeton, NYU and Columbia Professor. Pesenti presented on the dynamics of the current international economy, paying special attention to the Euro area crisis.  More ...
