Marcus Discusses Classroom Challenges at APA Meeting

Assistant Professor of Philosophy Russell Marcus gave two presentations at the Central Division meeting of the American Philosophical Association on Feb. 16 in Chicago. Both were made in a group session for the American Association of Philosophy Teachers that focused on challenges in the classroom.

Hamilton’s highest awards for teaching were presented at Class & Charter Day on May 6 to  Professor of Economics Elizabeth Jensen, Professor of English and Creative Writing Doran Larson, Associate Professor of Women’s Studies Anne Lacsamana and Assistant Professor of Philosophy Russell Marcus. Frank Anechiarico '71, the Maynard-Knox Professor of Government and Law, was presented with the Sidney Wertimer Award by the Student Assembly.

Marcus Publishes Article on IEP

Assistant Professor of Philosophy Russell Marcus has published an article on the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy (IEP). In "The Indispensability Argument in the Philosophy of Mathematics," Russell discusses the problem of justifying the mathematical beliefs that motivate the indispensability argument.
